Georgetown University offers a Doctor of Philosophy in Theological and Religious Studies program that focuses on the multicultural and multireligious world. The program consists of 36 graduate credits and takes five years to complete full-time. After two years of coursework, students spend a year in preparation for their examinations and dissertation proposal. The final two years are spent writing their dissertation.
In addition to coursework, students have the opportunity to take part in workshops for professional development. Workshops teach students how to write scholarly articles and cover letters. Students also work as teaching assistants during the second year of their students. After completing exams, students are allowed to teach undergraduate courses.
Florida State University
Florida State University offers hundreds of degree programs, which include its Doctor of Philosophy in Religion degree.
