The JavaScript front end developer course, intro to front end with JavaScript, and intro to web development programs cost $1,750. In contrast, the data analytics for HR and the data analytics for sales leadership programs cost $1,400. Each of these programs costs less when paid upfront. The web development program for international students costs $17,500.

Lighthouse Labs COVID-19 Relief Scholarship (Part-Time Courses)

Lighthouse Labs wanted to help the people impacted by the pandemic, so it created the COVID-19 Relief Scholarship in March 2020. The scholarship is available to both part-time and full-time students. The part-time scholarship comes with $750 funds for any of the part-time programs offered by the coding school, and these funds are awarded weekly.

COVID-19 Relief Scholarship (Part-Time Courses) Requirements

To qualify for this scholarship, you must have been accepted into any of Lighthouse Labs’ part-time programs. While you are in the process of registering for this program, you will have to include an essay on how the COVID-19 pandemic affected your education or employment path. Lighthouse Labs COVID-19 Relief Scholarship (Full-Time Bootcamp)

The COVID-19 Relief Scholarship is offered to full-time students enrolled in the school’s data science or web development bootcamp. It’s a $3,000 scholarship fund which fully covers their tuition fees. Like the part-time scholarship, it is available to students who have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Lighthouse Flex Scholarship is a $3,500 scholarship offered to those looking to transition into tech for various reasons. Flex Scholarship Requirements

This Lighthouse Labs scholarship program is available to those transitioning to tech due to economic uncertainty. Candidates applying for this scholarship must write an essay describing their reason for changing careers. It should include information regarding their previous industry, employment status, and other relevant information. 

You can submit your application for this scholarship during the admissions process, and you must also provide all necessary documents two weeks before the scholarship’s deadline. If you have received any other scholarships or discounts, you will not be eligible to apply for this specific scholarship.

Who Is Eligible for Lighthouse Labs Scholarships?

To be eligible for Lighthouse Labs scholarships, you must have been accepted into the bootcamp. The COVID-19 Relief Scholarship is available to students who have been accepted to any part-time programs. 

In contrast, the COVID-19 full-time scholarship is available to those accepted into the school’s data science and web development bootcamps. The Flex Scholarship is available to students that were successful in their application for the school’s web development flex program.

How to Apply for Lighthouse Labs Scholarships

Applying for Lighthouse Labs scholarships is relatively easy. All you have to do is go through the normal application process for any program and apply for the scholarship that corresponds to that specific course. While you are applying, you must submit an essay or letter explaining in detail why you are the right candidate for this scholarship.

For the COVID-19 scholarship, you will draft a letter talking about how the pandemic has affected you, your job, or your finances, as well as why you would be an ideal candidate. For the flex scholarship program, you will write a letter describing your reason for transitioning to the tech industry and give detailed information on your present or former industry, employment status, and other relevant information.

Other Ways to Pay for Lighthouse Labs

• Student loans (Windmill Microlending). This is called “Newcomers to Canada” and is available for both full-time and part-time programs. Two organizations offer this payment option, Windmill Microlending and Immigrant Services Society of British Columbia. Windmill Microlending provides low-interest loans of up to $15,000 to help skilled immigrants and refugees. 
• Student loans (ISSofBC). The second student loan is from a partnership between Lighthouse Labs and ISSofBC called “Youth of Tech” and offers young immigrants and refugees in Canada free access to bootcamps. Those eligible have to be unemployed, underemployed, and 17 to 29 years old.
• Bank accounts (student lines of credit). There are two types of bank account fundings, and the Student Lines of Credit is one of them. With this plan, some banks offer lines of credit to both longtime and first-time customers to cover tuition and living expenses. To access this, you will have to inform the admissions team during your bootcamp application process.
• Bank accounts (RESP/RRSP/LLP). This is the Registered Education Savings Plan/Registered Retirement Savings Plan/Lifelong Learning Plan. The full-time and part-time bootcamps are eligible for the RESP option, while the RRSP/LLP options are only available for the full-time courses. You will have to get a letter of confirmation from the school to apply for these.
• Discounts. Graduates of the part-time web development flex, data science bootcamp, and web development bootcamp programs are eligible for $850 discounts on part-time courses. In contrast, other part-time courses come with a $250 discount. Bootcamps and flex graduates receive $250 off a future part-time course.
• Free courses. Lighthouse Labs offers free online, self-paced courses for those who want to build their skills in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python, and iOS Elements.
