The cost of education is often a roadblock for someone seeking postsecondary education. For reference, Americans can expect to spend roughly $25,615 each year to pursue a four-year course at an in-state public university. Compounded over four years plus other school-related expenses, the total figure may deter potential students from pursuing the education they need to launch their careers.
Fortunately, tech bootcamps and other alternative learning institutes provide affordable and accessible education. Students can find more affordable bootcamps that range from $3,000 to $25,000, depending on the curriculum and services offered.
But aside from lower tuition fees, you’ll likely come across deferred payment plans and private student loans. There’s also the Income Share Agreement (ISA), which allows you to start paying your tuition only when you land a job that meets the minimum income threshold.
While these are great options, many are still seeking affordable education through federal grants and scholarships—options that are available only to accredited universities and very few bootcamps. Kenzie Academy, a coding and tech school providing immersive training programs to budding tech professionals, is one of them.
With the recent merger and acquisition of the coding and tech school by South New Hampshire University, its Title IV loan eligibility extends to Kenzie Academy. Kenzie learners get to enjoy all the perks of alternative education plus a chance to tap into the scholarships, loans, and grants afforded by the government.
Kenzie Academy presents its learners with several financing options, including federal financial aid, that can help them gain access to quality tech education.

Title IV is one of the eight title funds granted by the US government in the Higher Education Act of 1965. The act states that the government shall support qualified learning institutions to make education more accessible to everyone and provide them with a positive learning experience.
Among the beneficiaries of the federal funds are low-income students, school faculty and administration, immigrant students, and students with special needs. In the case of students seeking postsecondary education, they benefit from the provisions of Title IV.
Kenzie Academy’s Title IV eligibility is a game-changer, especially for career shifters and high school graduates looking to advance their education in tech.
Title IV Grants and Loans for Kenzie Academy Students
Kenzie Academy learners who apply and qualify could be eligible for the following federal financial aid programs:
- Federal Pell Grant Program. This grant is awarded to students currently enrolled in an undergraduate program. Amounts may vary each year, but qualified students can receive grant assistance ranging from $100 to $6,495 per year to aid their studies. Additionally, students with parents or guardians who are in the U.S. Armed Forces, veterans, or who died in active service may be eligible for an additional Federal Pell Grant. Those who do not qualify for the additional Pell grant could be eligible for an Iran and Afghanistan Service Grant.
- Federal Supplemental Equal Opportunity Grant (FSEOG). Before you can apply for an FSEOG, you need to qualify for a Pell Grant. The FSEOG funding is awarded based on school allocation policies, as schools are given limited funds and grants are awarded only to a few.
- Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans. Subsidized loans are available to undergraduate students with financial needs. Those who do not qualify for subsidized loans can apply for unsubsidized loans which are not based on financial needs.
Subsidized loans do not incur interest while you are in school and at least half-time. Repayment begins within six months of a student’s last date of attendance.
Unsubsidized loans are available to undergraduate students without financial need. Interest does incur while a student is in school at least half-time, and repayment also begins six months after a student’s last date of attendance. - Direct Parent PLUS Loan. This type of federal loan is available to parents of undergrad students pursuing continuing education. To qualify, you must have a good credit history. Repayment begins immediately after the last disbursement is made to the students’ charges.
Additionally, Kenzie learners are qualified for Title IV grants that were not previously obtainable, as well as lower-interest loans. This is a huge benefit that is hard to pass, considering that this is not available in many bootcamps. Kenzie is also building its alternative loan portfolio, allowing it to offer more options to learners to cover the cost of tuition.
But aside from getting access to federal funds and other loans, Kenzie Academy’s Title IV eligibility shows that the programs they provide are accredited by the Department of Education and in the states where they are offered. That said, Kenzie learners can have the assurance that they are getting quality education from a highly competent institute.
Who Can Apply for Title IV Funding at Kenzie Academy?
Students interested in a Pell grant or an FSEOG are required to submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. The FAFSA assesses and calculates a student’s eligibility, ensuring that they get appropriate funds based on their financial situation.
