Ironhack is an established coding bootcamp with nine locations across the globe—Miami being one of them. Ironhack planted its roots in Miami in 2017, and since then Ironhack alumni and instructors alike have gone onto leadership positions to lead the Florida tech community. When making this decision, Ironhack knew that Miami would be an ideal location for various reasons. Its status as a tech hub is a reminder of and testament to the global tech culture consolidating itself in the Miami area.
Just how big of a tech hub is Miami? According to Crunchbase, Miami-based venture-backed companies raised $972 million in 2020 alone. With Silicon Valley hinting at potential relocation to Miami and a warm welcome by Mayor Francis Suarez, it is safe to assume that the scene is only going to grow bigger.
In January 2021, Ironhack raised its Series B of $20 million, which was led by Lumos Capital and supported by numerous investors, including Creas and Brighteye. This new development, Ironhack says, intends to use this latest capital to “expand corporate training and development programs for enterprises” and to remain a first-choice partner in bridging the gaps that exist in the realm of tech skills.
As companies open up new offices and more job opportunities are created, the advantages of having tech skills are becoming more apparent to a lot of people. This is where Ironhack comes into the picture. Its Miami campus is offering three comprehensive courses tailored to three different career tracks: Web Development, UX/UI Design, and Data Analysis. Ironhack has been a massive talent provider for numerous companies throughout Southern Florida, with graduates filling in various positions across local sectors.
Building a Tech Unicorn with Ironhack Miami
As a leading tech education provider, Ironhack observes the job market closely. It takes notes of trending technical skills and incorporates them into the curriculum. This ensures that students get the most well-rounded education and are ready to launch a tech career as soon as they graduate.
The quality of its students, also known as Ironhackers, did not go unnoticed. In 2019, Miami’s REEF Technology brought on Ironhack alumnus Sarah Nohe as its Head of User Experience. REEF transforms neighborhoods into community hubs and helps keep local communities connected through food, resources, and services—most notably through their work with neighborhood kitchens. Two years later, eight more Ironhackers have joined the team, helping to power the up-and-coming tech unicorn.
“As a hiring partner, REEF has recruited from Miami’s talented tech community and has built a top-notch design team, packed with designers from Ironhack. Ironhack’s tech courses have helped many students transition their careers and have made an impact at startups and companies all over the world,” it said.

Web Development
- Schedule: Full-time or part-time, in-person or hybrid

The next module will cover backend development using tools like Node.js, Express.js, Handlebars, MongoDB, and Mongoose. At the end of this module, students will use pair programming to create a full stack application.
